Default new stuff

Hey Nath (Fat245) Yes I'm painting the tank, looks a bit rough at the moment huh. And yes I did freak a bit about drilling into it but at the end of the day you've got to remember it is only metal so might as well jump in with both feet.
RE: How long left on this machine mate? I want to see it burning rubber in next to no time! Well thats not an easy question to answer, how much left is not that much so hopefully it'll be running soon.
I've never seen this car turn a tire in anger as I bought it already half torn down.

Now onto new business. The running of wire in the car has started, the phantom grill has also started prep for paint along with the wheels. Tires have been ordered.

OK, one of the unique things about these cars is that the door card is quite narrow. This makes installing any audio annoying because you almost can't have a six up the front and turn the window crank.

The solution for this is to go electric. I looked at the aftermarket and found some great solutions out there but didn't really want to pay that much for a non essential part so the next step was to addapt an oem part. I found a pair of EF falcon rear motors for $20 on ebay and given that they look like the universal ones I saw for over $150 I figured it was worth a punt.
Heres what they looked like landed:

As you can in this photo its to long for the door, Those lines are where I intend to section it.

Here it is sectioned, last step is to weld in the stainless flat bar I bought to re-inforce the two bits and reduce flex, then work out how I'll mount it in the door.

One extra showing it taped so I could mock it up

I'll get some pics of some of the work being done on the interior this week end.
