Thumbs up Chrysler Day Darling Harbour 2008

CAVOA held its 13th Annual Darling Harbour Charity Display this weekend on Pyrmont Bridge. Over 40 Chrysler’s attended and were parked atop Pyrmont Bridge for the day. It was quite a novel experience being able to drive up onto the pier and park our cars, with 1000’s of people wandering by all day.
One of the absolute standouts of the show would have to have been the immaculate black Charger which is a dead ringer for the one in Steve McQueen’s legendary movie Bullit! Every single part on this car is genuine and brand new, right down to the battery which had the ‘Mopar’ logo on it. An amazing car indeed and great to see it out getting driven.
Whilst not looking like anything special to Mr & Mrs Joe blow, this 100% original E49 sixpack charger was the most valueable car at the show by a long shot! Apparently these original E49’s fetch upwards of 200k!
Thanks to the Chrysler and Valiants Owners Association (CAVOA) for the great day out, shall be there next year without a doubt.

What Adam didn't tell you was that his 300C just about stole the show. Up against some big competition (including big dollar bare metal restorations) he scored one of the 5 trophies we had for the day. Voting for the trophies was done by the other exhibitors and while we love our old Valiants you couldn't help but notice the the big grey 300C.

While most of the cars got looked at it was always Adam's car that had the biggest crowd. We were debating whether we would have to provide him with some window cleaner to get all the hand prints off.

Great to meet both Adam and Paul (simpson). Thanks for coming down from the Central Coast.

I will post up some more photos in the next day or so of some of the other tough /interesting cars like the black Charger with triple webers and NOS -first time I've seen that combo.

haha I don't know about that mate, the black charger, immaculate vc and a heap of others drew a good bit of attention too. Should have seen my windows this morning, so many cupped hand prints up and down all of them

Great to meet you too Neale and the other chrysler boys there. I forget the name of the guy with the black charger - you wouldn't happen to remember would you?
