Well it has been a long long long time since we last had a Feature car up so thought we’d start off with a very stout streeter from up the coast (sorry YLD073 we needed to get your ugly mug off the front page). This is Lee’s 1973 LJ aka YLD-073! Lee’s LJ is powered by a 355 stroker and pumps out 385rwhp. The block is taken from a VT, VN heads are ported with crane rockers, SRP forged pistons and Scat H beam rods fill up the block with a Harrop crank filling out the bottom end. Toyota Aurion silver paint looks right at home on the LJ. “I bought the car in 2004 and it was very tidy but did have a little rust and was running a healthy 202 with celica 5 speed and 9″ diff. The motor and box were pulled out and sold to make way for the vn headed 355 and th350. I got it engineered and drove it for a few months before the engine grenaded itself and decided to completely strip the car down. It was sent ot Mark Dallaqua (MD Conversions) for mini tubbing and brake upgrades. From there it was sent off to bathurst custom paint for rust removal and a new paint job. In that time, a new motor was screwed together by Pete at Intune Performance”. Old school muscle is always that much better to look at if all the chrome and stainless bits are shiny. Lee has had both bumpers rechromed and all stainless trim reconditioned. Weld prstar rims finish off the tough stance of Lee’s LJ nicely. Thanks for your time Lee, that’s one hell of an LJ!
