Arrow Who's Competing For $10,000 Cash At Drag Tag?

Gidday Members, Big Tone from Drag Tag here, I need to know if any of you guys are intending to compete in the $10,000 Cash Grunt Files burnout comp at our Venue in Campbellfield Melbourne on Dec 8th. Spots are limited to 40 entrants to ensure no SH***ers and we already have 26 confirmed entrants including 9 from Interstate. I just want to try and reserve a spot for the modified car forum guys.

hey big tone, is vk.671 one of the interstaters coming. after his last trip he is keen to come down and take the loot back to sydney. he got a new combo coming, so if you thought the last effort was big, look out and warn the heavy hitters the big guy is coming. any tuff rotors compete in your comps?. im finding it hard to put up a rotor vs v8 challenge. the only way to get a tuff rotor is build one i think. i got an idea how to get it done.

hey big tone the event is only 1 week after pro street elite burnouts. Have you got any transport trucks or anything heading down with other cars? I would consider coming down if costs were kept to a minimum.

VK671 is most definitely one of the confirmed starters. His beast wasn't quite right at the last comp and still let it rip, so from what your telling me we are in for a wack. The last comp was the first time we had met Craig and he was an absolute gentleman. We'd be happy for him to take the money north of the border. As for Rotary class. We understand your frustration, along with the 4s, 6s, 8s and other classes you could have. We would love to be able to split up many classes but the money just isn't there to go around. It's a catch 22, if we split the classes up and the money, the quality of cars competing drop off as there would only be say $2000 total for each comp. Having said that, this is only our second major burnout comp and the feedback we received back from our first one and the massive increase in interest on this one, who knows with a little bit of corporate sponsorship we may be in a position to implement it next year. The best guys we know in Melbourne for thoughts on a tuff rotor would be Promaz in Campbellfield or Maztech and speak to Anthony Rodrigues.

Yeh we know its pretty close to Pro Street Elite but it was the only time we thought suitable. We don't want to compete against any burnout comp and in fact we think we should all work in together. Being so far away from QLD we didn't think our event would impact on attendances or competitors for either. Having said that there are obviously some guys that will want to contest both. I will ring around some of our entrants and see if they are going to Pro and look at what their thoughts are as to transport. In the meantime, try giving Sal Forza a ring on 02 9756 4366 as he was possibly coming to our Comp with a 6 car carrier but was looking for a way to reduce costs as well. To be seen to keep things fair for all concerned we do not reimburse any competitors for any costs and we do not pay any appearance fees under any circumstances. The competitors have to reimburse themselves by taking out the cash! I'll keep you posted on the transport situation.

Sounds awesome guys, wish you all the best...we know it will be a huge success. Sounds like by the line up of competitors from Vic us Mexicans will probably take home the money. Boys like Steve Loader, Leroy Rees, Peter Grmusa to name a few are also competing at our event. Throw in the likes of Aaron Mackley, Paul Cooper, Kevin Grech, Luke Baker, Shaun Woodhouse as well, and then just some of the NSW confirmations of Craig Campbell, Clint Rowley, Mick Brasher, Don Elphick, Dave Hearing, Kevin Windle and Chris Sloan and you can see both yours and ours are full class and grunt. Peter Gray and John Taverna will do demos at our comp, and like yourselves, to keep everything above board, we have excluded them from being in the Competition as we have decided to sponsor thier Cars to some degree...you will see the Drag Tag stickers on them. What an unbelievable performance from Ben Simpson, we hope he goes well. I will get in contact with Crossroads and see if they have any spots available on their transporters as I know there are a few Sydney boys that wouldn't mind getting together and going as one.
Above all, everyone get to Elite Pro Street Burnouts, it will be one massive day and all reports we have recieved is that is a very well organised and must see event..good luck, Big Tone - Drag Tag

P.S. If anyone is coming down to ours please introduce yourself to me, we like to make everyone feel like a VIP and treat you accordingly. (But sorry no XXXX beer allowed on premises)
