i love pro stock but they are not really a ideal engine due to they have to have the rockers taken off after evry run to relave the valve springs not really conventional but are my second faverot dragsters after top fuelrs

Pro-Stock are pretty much the ultimate in V8 tech, 1200hp or so from a 400ci i wouldn't be too upset
Pro Stock is a competitive class so u need to do what you need to do. though for me a 398ci twin turbo'd Pro Stock engine would be the ultimate, i have said for a while if i had the $'s that would be the engine i would do.
you cant turbo a prostock engine they have light weight rods and pistons and the valves are at there limet put psi on the valves and you would start valve bouncing and the rpm would be usless and the comp ratio is way too high for turbos this is why forced air engines are set up differnt like top alcohole

a pro-stock engine can be adapted to be made turbocharged, a couple of racers in the US have/are doing it.
