I remember at drag strip in tasmania about 20 years ago a bloke had an XB and he made his a two door by putting 2-door doors on it and chopping the shell to fit. I know it was not a street car but it looked wicked, almost as though it had been photo chopped.
Doesn't help you much though, good luck with the conversion.

Have you checked the bootlid, beaver & rear cowl areas as well, Inner 1/4's will be different, Surely it would be easier to just start with a 2 door or are they already that rare?. Don't mean to sound like a wanker but seems like a lot of work.

mate it will be a massive job youd need a robot or jig to keep the car straight and stop it from sagging and if its for street youd have to get an engineer involved (speak to one before you start chopping) and if you could a measuring system with overhaed measurements and a data sheet for the specs it would have to be spot on in the measure otherwise it will be obvious and not look good at all if a 2 door is out of your price range i think doing it this way will probably cost you more in the long run(but thats from a panelshop point of view) from start to finish there would be 2-300 man hours in that job consertivaly if you were paying for labour at about 65/hr

from start to finish welding & fabricating ready for paint how many actaul man hrs do you see to make it look like a lj 2door ??? have you tried the qtr glass in to make sure the lines are right??? as an lj 4door with the back doors welded up isnt going to look like a 2door mate and i hope ya didnt cut and weld it with the car sitting on stands like that as when you cut the centre pillar it probably has sagged mate.... not being a smart a55 mate i run a panel shop

I agree with 355vk that the car needs supports so it doesn't distort but if you are able to keep it all straight then why not the 2 and 4 doors share exactly the same roof shape and when you complete it ,it will be hard to spot the difference for an average punter or even a not so average punter

Good work
