You noticed correctly. It's about 99.5% US cars and trucks racing in Holland. Since this year there are a couple of Honda Civics with turbo's. The fastest one runs low 11's and there was also 1 RX3 with a rotary (non turbo). They didn't have it sorted very well and it was running 13's or 14's.

To be honest, I don't know. The turbo 4 cylinder and rotary scene hasn't taken off over here yet and there's no affordable European cars with V8's. Probably US cars cause it's most affordable and easiest for the horsepower.

No, pre-'73 cars don't have to comply to anything for emissions and after '73 it's 4.5% CO up until somewhere in the '80s and then they cut it down to 1.5% for a couple of years and now since quite a number of years it's 0.5% I think.
When my Camaro has it's bi-yearly inspection they only check if the brakes work (on the hoist and turn the wheels by hand), the handbrake, the position of the light beams, if all the lights work, ball joints, tread depth (minimal 1.6mm) and that's roughly about it. Car's pre-1960 don't get any inspection. Cars older than 30 and after 1960 get inspected every 2 years and younger than 30 every year. They assume that the really old cars get looked after anyway because they are generally owned by enthousiasts and don't get driven daily.
