yeah i had to do that or it to keep control of it
otherwise if i just nail it and hold it alot of times it,ll just
go whatever way it feels like and just keep flicking round the same direction!!
one day i backed off for a sec and realised ah yeah thats the ****
so i used that method at the nats and that was the result..

nah i reckon it adds some flare or show of strength to a skid if you can back off in top gear pause and it goes straight back to big revs as soon as you smack the throttle.

Default My Combo

Heres the specs for my 1982 VH Commodore that im currently building, it was left to me by my grandpa and it was my first car. Should be ready by this time next year im hoping. Going to be worth the wait!

ENGINE

Make :
Toyota/Lexus 1UZFE 4l quad cam Ally block v8 with 6 bolt mains. Block cleaned and machined to fit larger head studs (7/16"), new sleeves with 15 thou overbore.
Mods :
Ongoing full rebuild, 2uzfe rotating assembly (stroke to 4.5l) forged pistons with 15 thou overbore, forged H beam rods rated to 150hp each, full seal, bearing & gasket kit. Full ARP L19 stud kit (mains and rods), Stage 2 cam regrind (i think its 274 duration 385 lift). Trying to source an engine girdle from lextreme.com too just for giggles.
Induction : C38 Rotrex supercharger through standard intake manifold for now (had planned for an individual throttle body setup in a big box with a perspex lid for wank factor but we shall see.) I want to run about 10psi but should be able to push it alot further if i feel like being silly.
Heads : Mild port & polish with oversized valves, double valve springs and titanium retainers. Machined to fit the 7/16" head bolts.
Ignition :
Controlled by engine management, nology hotwires leads
Exhaust : 2.5″ twin exhaust with custom made headers to clear the steering and chassis beams. (pain in the bum)
Cooling : Alloy radiator + twin thermo fans, oil cooler with thermofan for rotrex.
Fueling : Wolfkatz after market fuel rail/injectors (supports 1000hp), big **** fuel pump. Injector pulse and duration ECU controlled.
Power : unknown as yet, still not built!
Performance : should break 11s on street tires

TRANSMISSION

Gearbox : TH700 with stage 3 shift kit, reverse pattern if i can legally do it
Converter :
not sure yet, depends on final cam specs
Diff : 9″ 3.9 LSD with 31 spline billet axles (was out of a VH drag car so it should do the trick)

SUSPENSION & BRAKES

Springs etc : 3″ lowered whiteline springs, 30mm spring steel adjustable whiteline front sway bar, 20mm rear. Rear upper adjustable control arms, boxed lowers. K-Mac fully adjustable camber and castor kit. Full bush replacement with all urethane whiteline/nolathane bushes, rides really well.
Shocks : Koni Adjustables
Brakes : Hoppers stoppers VT HSV spec upgrade kit with DBA4000 series slotted wiper rotors all round/bendix ultimate pads

INTERIOR

Seats : New buckets for the front retrimmed in leather to match the rest of it. Will probably be the last thing to be done though as the interior standard was in awesome condition.
Instruments : Autometer Nexus series instrument cluster

EXTERIOR

Full bare metal respray happening at the moment to black with a dark blue zurellic pearl, should look the goods. Not putting any body kits or anything on it just the SLE chrome trims and bumpers. Going for the sleeper look :)
