Default Fuel line size

I'm starting to get the next part of the prem organised (finally)

Fuel lines.....what is the most practical size? I'll use braided line but i'm unsure of what size to go for, -8 or -10.

It'll run from a sump in the tank to the fuel filter then the pump then up to regulator then into the carby.

I want to use both lines from the reg, one line to each bowl in the carby.

Fuel pump is a holley blue, Engine is a 383, Big crane cam, 750 BG mighty demon, Engines good for about 400hp. 3000rpm stally and it'll have 4.11 gears in the diff.

At the moment its running 3/8 rubber line through the original pickup in the tank, it has a holley mechanical pump on it (80 or 90 gph I think) and if i'm heavy on the foot it'll drain the carby at about 4500rpm.
Any help is appreciated

Is your Line standard Now?

So Maybe 7/16?

Maybe Upgrade to a 1/2" OD line to the Reg and two 3/8" OD Lines to the Carb Bowl's?
Or maybe Two seperate Pumps if your not getting enough flow from the Single Holley Blue?

Also Make sure your electrical system is upto Scratch, As AJ found out with the SR20 and the surging he was facing with it.

If your going to replace all the lines anyway - my 2 cents - don't mess around go straight to 1/2" all the way - that way you'll know that fuel line size will never be an issue.

No need for braided all the way (bloody expensive) - hard line where you can e.g. along chassis rail etc and then braided for flexible areas and engine bay.

To me that sounds more like a pump issue, 3/8 line should be fine for application

Cool, I'll use -10, which is what I got all the part numbers for. I was going to go -10 from the tank to the reg and then use two -8 lines from the reg to the carby as i've got a length of -8 here.

Will that still work ok?

(edit) I hadn't really given the pump much consideration as it was a brand new mechanical holley on there ChevLX. I'm not running a gauge so, maybe.....

Anybody have an online place where they get fittings & hose from? I know VPW do them but I was wondering if there is anywhere else.
