Default Drag race in your town.

Do any of you guys do any illegal drag racing like around your city or town? Share stories if anything spetacular happened.

I used to do it often, but in places where allmost no damage would be possible. It would also be when we were bored, which I might add was often, and we never did it for money. Has anyone else ever done it for money? How much did you win?

I used to go down to this place out in the woods people liked to call "The Pit" and watch some guys race out there. It was pretty intense, I never raced, but I use to love watching other people race. Though, that stopped around a year ago when cops found out what was happening back there. It was fun while it lasted.

I dont have the car to do it - but I go to the hang out place every Saturday night (just about). It's really fun, lots of hot girls, and plenty of nice cars. You can learn a lot by going to one of the hang outs.

yes this happens quite frequently around my area...

Usually friday and saturday nights at a certain place.... ALOT of people go ~200 to 300 at any one time! The cops do come past to check nothing shady is going on and only usually break it up if they catch people either racing or doing burnouts.

The most amusing thing i've seen go down there was when the cops came to break it all up, it was one of those nights where there were alot of cars and drunks and basically mayhem!
Anyways one of the cop cars parked right in the middle of the burnout pad, so this drunken moron jumps in his car and proceeds to do donuts around the cop car. Everyone was cheering this guy on and to be honest it was a nice controlled burnout with heaps of smoke!
The cops waited for him to stop, arrested him and confiscated his car. I really hope it was worth it for that guy. Odds on he won't have his licence for a very very very long time and will have to save up to buy himself a new car :)

cheers,
AJ

Happens around here all the time. I've been going at it for a while, but picking and choosing my opponents wisely. My car isn't fixed up and doesn't stand a chance against any of the upper echelon guys. I am picking up $50 - $100 here and there every now and then though. Not bad.

when i used too live in sydney with my old HQ sedan it had a pretty wild 400 small block in it somewhere round the 6-700 at the treads.

we used too meet at hornsby area. there would be a race once a month pretty much. from hornsby too newcastle roundabout and return. would have anything upto 20 cars in the race.

entry fee was 2 k winner takes all.

if it was a close finish you would give the second place something cause it was close.

i won a couple of them but then they started patrolling it pretty hard so we moved and started running from penrith too lithgow and back.

we had some pretty wild accidents and some pretty hefty fines too lol.

but had plenty of fun. its a pretty awsome feeling when ya going down the F3 doing bout 250 clicks hehehehehe.

we found out back then that the cameras couldnt take a pic of ya number plate over 210k's. they changed it pretty quick now ya have too be doing something stupid like 300 + or something.

i keep it all on the track now a days. got a wife and kids now have too be kinda sensible lol
cheers
ian

Fark, Around 40 k for the winner, where do i sign up, as long as it's not for pinks . That reminds me of 'Running on Empty' "We're racing cars, we're bettin' cars" Ahhh love that chev
