Default Odd GT3782

G'day, I have a Garrett GT3782 that is percuilar because the turbine AR is .99 where every other GT3782 is 1.something. I am glad of the smaller number as it is going to be used on a 245 hemi (why not a 265 everyone says, because I wan't to fit into a particular class-why not lie, everyone than says!). It is originally of a Scania bus and is part number 703013-8 and cust/model number 1412936 and/or 1524885. I cannot find this turbo in any records. I got it on the basis/flow etc of the usual GT3782. I figure the smaller A/R number will give/need a little less flow? through the turbine. The 245 has to hang together for long runs across the dry salt lakes next march, oh and on the street, so don't really want much more than 6500rpm. It is built strongly but is still a push rod old tech motor. If anyone knows anything, I would like to know so I could get a graph idea and just out of curiosity. Thanks Julian.

glad to see another Mopar fan join the site - sorry can't help much on the turbo not many chrysler/valiant owners go the turbo route. Stroking and 6pack carbs more in favour but I understand where you're coming from if your trying to fit a engine cc category.

we need pics though so post em up.

The 245/265 Motor's suffer from Bad Harmonic's and I have pulled a few down and seen a few that suffered oil pump failure after seeing 6500RPM Several times, aswell as bending and snapping rocker's in two at 7000RPM.

As for the turbo, i will ask my Tuner as he is a Turbo Nerd and see what he has to say.
